BIOGRAPHY

marionDr. Marion Solomon received her MSW from USC and her PhD. from UCLA. Currently she is Director of Training, Lifespan Learning Institute; Lecturer at the David Geffen School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at UCLA, and Senior Extension faculty at the Department of Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences at UCLA. She also has a private practice in West Los Angeles, specializing in treating relationship issues.   

Dr. Solomon has published several books and articles focused on clinical training. She is author of “Lean On Me: The Power of Positive Dependency In Intimate Relationships.” She is also Co-Author of Short Term Therapy for Long Term Change,” “Love and War in Intimate Relationships.” Co-Editor of “Countertransference in Couples’ Therapy”; “The Borderline Patient”; “Healing Trauma” and more.

Director of Training, Lifespan Learning Institute; Lecturer at the David Geffen School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at  UCLA, and Senior Extension faculty at the Department of Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences at UCLA.  

As Director of Clinical Training, she coordinates yearly conferences on Attachment, Trauma, The Mind and The Brain. She and her husband are Co-Founders of the Lifespan Foundation for Research and Teaching.

She has two children and four grandchildren, all living within fifteen minutes of her home in Westwood. She has an ongoing interest in making relationships stronger—this includes the therapeutic relationship as well as other attachments in peoples’ lives.
